How does this work:

We will be using the Remo Conference Platform:  a virtual conference platform that will allow individuals to freely move around and meet with both university representatives and community college advising staff to assist students in their college choices and options.  The Remo platform will allow 4 year transfer admission staff more easily make referrals to other schools as needed.

The OTD fair will open at 10am for students to participate.  Each university will have a table with six seats. If you would like to meet with a representative, just click on one of the open seats and you will be in a mini – zoom like session.  When you are done talking with the representative, just click to another table and meet with the next school.  You don’t have to go in any specific order.  You will also notice that there are different floors.  Be sure to explore the floors and meet with different reps.

Searching for a specific school or major?

If you participate on your Community Colleges day – representatives from your advising offices will be there to answer questions and make recommendations.

Tips for a successful College Fair Visit:

  •        Review the Directory for the Fair – Different Universities will be on different floors.  It will be important to know which floor and which table belongs to the college you are interested.
  •          Feel free to click in and chat with different representatives.  You might just find a program you didn’t know about and would really like.
  •          Do your research – find out what universities are offering programs you are interested in.
  •          Be open to new possibilities.  You might be interested in a subject but each university may put a different twist on the programs they offer.
  •          Are there opportunities for doing undergraduate research, study abroad, internship experiences?
  •          Universities have different names for essentially the same thing – for example: Exercise Sports Sciences, Kinesiology, Sports Sciences, Exercise Science, Motor Behavior.
  •          Ask about Scholarship Opportunities, Deadlines, Important Dates, and Timeline to completion based upon what courses you have taken.
  •         Ask questions about student atmosphere, what is it like for transfer students, student life, athletics, and what the community surrounding the school is like.
